Windows 8 Build 7955 video leaks – shows off Metro UI elements

A newly leaked video of a much more recent build demonstrates many Metro UI elements being incorporated into Windows 8. German website WinFuture had originally leaked the video, including numerous screenshots. The exact build string of the build in the video is 7955.fbl_srv_wdacxml.

There are a couple of things you will notice in the video:

    • With the build being fairly recent, many of the leaked features we had wrote about are present in this build
    • Tile-based theme maintained throughout many of the buttons and menus
    • Menu items appear to be bigger, with the possibility of being geared towards touch interfaces

We also spotted something interesting amongst the leaked screenshots. It appears that there is an even strong indication at this point of Microsoft going through with incorporating Ribbon UI within Windows 8. The information bar that rests at the bottom of each Explorer window in Windows 7 is now positioned to the right. Perhaps this is Microsoft’s solution to the Ribbon’s problem of taking up too much vertical screen estate.

You may argue that it is a matter of the Explorer setting in the bottom-right corner, but if you look closely, there is no option for you to place the information bar at the bottom.

How long will it be until this build leaks to the public?
