IE10 Platform Preview available for download; demoed on Windows ARM

Looks like the Internet Explorer 10 rumors were true after all. Microsoft announced and demonstrated IE10 on Windows 8 at MIX11. It has only been a short while since IE9 has been released, but Microsoft is not slowing down to its competition.

IE10 will feature native HTML5 support, just as IE9 had. In addition, support will be added for new web standards such as CSS Gradients and CSS3 Flexible Box Layout.

Steven Sinofsky also mentioned that the IE10 build was running on Windows ARM. According to Computerworld, it was running on a 1GHZ Tegra Processor from NVIDIA.

Windows 8 Milestone 1 Build 7850 download leaks

Windows 8 Build 7850

It’s about time. The first Windows 8 build has leaked according to an anonymous tipster to BetaArchive. The full build string for the leaked build is 6.1.7850.0.winmain_win8m1.100922-1508_x86fre_client-enterprise_en-us.iso. The build has been verified as genuine.

This Windows 8 build is the final Milestone 1 build. As an early build,many of the leaked features we have written about may not be present. As well, several features such as the installation wizard seem to have still maintained the Windows 7 look. This should not come as a surprise since most aesthetic changes occur in the Milestone 3 branch. In order for the build to function, BIOS clocks might need to be set back since it is already past the build expiry date.

Windows 8 Build 7850 has been leaked to the usual private FTPs and torrent sites.
