Gaming to be a “key component” in Windows 8

According to a source that has tipped off Techradar, Microsoft plans to use Windows 8 as an opportunity to “relaunch PC gaming.” Recently hired Rahul Sood, who had founded luxury computer manfacturer Vodoo PC, was quoted saying that

“Windows 8 will represent a real new push into PC gaming, … Gaming will be a key component for the whole OS.

The company has induced some efforts such as the Games for Windows Marketplace in attempts to fuel PC gaming and take more control of the industry, which seems to be dominated by the ever-increasing library of Valve’s Steam.

These efforts haven’t necessarily caused a revolution per se, but it looks like Microsoft is hoping Windows 8 will change all this.
